This festival hosts the best international young orchestras from countries as far apart as Scotland and Ukraine, not forgetting this summers special guests: the young orchestra from Beijing, who will start off the festival on August 5. The excellent European Union Youth Orchestra and the Juilliard Orchestra from the United States will also contribute to the variety of sounds. Performed by two trumpets, three horns and one trombone, the hymn of the Lithuanian Anatolijus Senderovas will introduce every concert. New compositions and leading conductors like Krzysztof Penderecki, Bernard Haitink and Muhai Tang are set to make the Young Euro Classic an unmissable event. The Konzerthaus on Berlins historic Gendarmenmarkt is the setting for this musical odyssey from Europe to Asia.
