28 April-27 Oct 2006. The world-famous Vienna Boys Choir (Wiener Sngerknaben) together with the Chorus Viennensis made up of former members of the Choir - and the Vienna Chamber Orchestra perform the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at the Vienna Musikverein. Officially founded in 1924, in reality the choirs history goes back to 1498, when Emperor Maximilian I issued a decree making a dozen or so boy sopranos a permanent component of the Hofkapelle (court musicians). The Mozart and more concerts, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the composers birth, are held in the Brahms Hall of the Musikverein, home of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Admission 63-36. Concerts start at 16.00 on 2, 8, 16, 23 June; 8, 15, 22, 29 Sept; 6, 13, 20 & 27 Oct.
