Chanson franaise is an acquired taste: you either love it or you hate it. If you are in this first category, you will certainly enjoy the Singin' in Paris festival. Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet, Charles Aznavour, Serge Gainsbourg, Jacques Brel : these are some of the artists whose repertoire will be sung at the Htel Guillaume de Brosse, a charming private mansion in the Marais district. Every evening, talented performers give their all, with vocal and piano performances to both thrill and move their audiences. If you are uninitiated, you will probably find this a rather peculiar and corny experience. But, provided you can understand the language, maybe you will appreciate what is arguably the richest musical heritage in Europe.
