Tighter controls for Oxford lapdancing
Lapdancing clubs could be banned from Oxford as councillors propose to enforce stringent extra powers which will allow them to reject licensing applications for such clubs near schools, churches and tourist attractions, reports the Oxford Mail.
It is thought that existing venues will be forced to close down when existing licences end because they will contravene the new guidelines. Government legislation came into force on 6 April that gives local authorities the power to restrict the location of sexual entertainment venues.
