Now in its 12th edition, the annual festival of traditional black music from the US at the Centro Cultural de la Villa this year opens with the Philadelphia Black Gospel Choir in New Spirit (13 Dec 20.30), followed by the Mississippi Mass choir with Singing Gospel Christmas (14 Dec 20.30). On 15 Dec the Harlem ARC Choir present The sublime emotion of the Gospel a capella (20.30), while Gospel without borders is performed by the Black Sound gospel singers on 16 Dec (20.30). The final concert Sacred Steel by the Campbell Brothers (17 Dec 19.30) sees pedal-steel guitar music accompanying gospel singing a 70-year-old tradition from the Pentacostal House of God Keith Dominion Church. Concerts are in the Sala Guirau and tickets cost 20-25.
