Dublin is to be twinned with Beijing in a move that is expected to open up business opportunities between the two capital cities as well as boost Dublin's profile.

On 1 June the mayor of Dublin, Gerry Breen is leading a delegation to China to sign the deal, which was reached in December 2010. The group includes city officials, politicians, representatives from the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) and many of Dublin
