The city’s Christmas tree is now on display at the Grand-Place. This year the 17-metre Norwegian spruce is a gift from Wallonia. It comes from the Natura 2000 site in Hertogenwald, Belgium’s largest forest.
It has a PECF certificate (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Scheme) to show that it comes from sustainable forestland.
Brussels’ Winter Wonder programme includes a Christmas market, a fair ground, an ice rink, a light and sound show and a nativity scene at the Grand-Place in the centre of the city from 29 Nov-5 Jan from 17.30-23.00.
