Barcelona FC, the reigning European football champions, have announced plans to increase the capacity of their 50-year-old Camp Nou ground. The proposed addition of 17,000 seats would make the stadium the worlds biggest, with a total capacity of 115,000. Club vice-president Marca Ingla has said that costs and a timescale will be announced after a consultation with the stadiums neighbours. However, he promised that the renovations would not be financed by raising ticket prices. Barcelona FC currently has 150,000 members.
