28 Sept-29 Oct 2006. The CREA Theatre hosts the Queens English Theatre Company (QETC) in a performance of Harvey Fiersteins classic gay comedy/drama Torch Song Trilogy. First performed in New York in 1982, the play has lost none of its relevance as it reflects every nuance of modern gay existence. By turns hilarious, moving and sad, the story in three acts revolves around the life of Arnold Beckhoff, a torch song-singing Jewish drag queen in New York City. Winner of the 1983 Tony Award for best play, Torch Song Trilogy was subsequently made into a film starring Fierstein as Arnold and Anne Bancroft as his mother. After the Amsterdam dates, this production will tour to Berlin Ljubljana and Zagreb. The CREA theatre has a comfortable bar for eats and drinks before and after the show.
