28 Sept-1 Oct 2006. The Irish Film Institute presents the fifth edition of the documentary film festival Stranger than Fiction featuring a total of 32 films, including 20 Irish productions. Opening with the musical documentary Leonard Cohen Im Your Man dedicated to the charismatic American singer-songwriter (28 Sept at 20.30), the programme also includes Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait, a tribute to French football idol Zinedine Zidane (29, 30 Sept & 1 Oct), Our Brand is Crisis about American advisors to a former Bolivian president campaigning for re-election (29 Sept at 20.15), and Bloody Sunday. A Derry Diary, which follows the legal inquiry into the events of 30 Jan 1972 from the point of view of the families of the victims (1 Oct at 13.00).
