7 Feb-17 April 2006. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec only became interested in advertising poster art late in his artistic career, and his total output of posters comes to little more than 30 works. This monographic exhibition at the Museu Nacional dArt de Catalunya (MNAC), entitled Toulouse-Lautrec and the Origins of the Modern Poster, features the aristocratic French artists posters from the collection of the Muse dIxelles in Brussels, and also the poster of May Belfort belonging to the Museu Nacional dArt de Catalunya. It is a tribute to Lautrecs distinctive style that his unconventional posters led to a regeneration of advertising art at the end of the 19th century. Admission 8.50 (valid for two days, permanent and temporary exhibitions and audio-guide), 30 per cent discount for the unemployed, people aged12-21, students. Under-12s and over-65s free. Tues-Sat 10.00-19.00, Sun 10.00-14.30.
