23 June-16 July 2006. Copenhagen International Theatre presents a festival of New Circus focussing on the individual artist, with intimate performances in tiny venues. The opening event on 23 June is a free non-stop programme of circus acts 16.00-21.00 on an outdoor stage at sterflled Torv followed by night cabaret at the Kaleidoskops K2 22.00-02.00. International guests over the three weeks include Circo Ripopolo from Belgium in a double bill with Escarlata Circus from Spain, the Compagnie XY from France and Didier Andr and Jean-Paul Lafeuvre with La serre (The glasshouse) and Le jardin. The Akhe Theatre from St Petersburg presents Mr Carmen, an absurd variation of Merimes Carmen. French company Petit Theatre Baraque close the festival with performances on 6-10 & 12-16 July.
