27 May-9 Sept 2006. This year the annual festival on Berlins Museum Island has been extended to include the Kulturforum on Potsdamer Platz, which hosts concerts throughout the World Cup football competition from 5 June to 9 July, featuring musicians from Ghana, Angola, Sweden, France, USA and South Africa. A mega-screen has also been set up on Potsdamer Platz for public viewing of the World Cup football matches. Other festival highlights include concerts by Paolo Conte on 5 Aug, Simply Red on 16 Aug and performances of Evita and Jesus Christ Superstar. Summer cinema screenings outside the Alte Nationalgalerie start on 6 July. Admission to Kulturforum 5. Concerts usually start at 20.00. Tickets to Conte/Simply Red 103.30-51.80.
