20 July-20 Aug 2006. One of the highlights of the Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart 250th anniversary celebrations in Vienna is the KlangBogen festival of classical music and opera hosted by the Theater an der Wien. Opening with the premiere of Mozarts opera Don Giovanni(1787) directed by Keith Warner with Gerald Finley in the title role (20, 23, 29 July & 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, 18 Aug at 19.00), the programme also features concerts of the great composers music performed by Julien Rachlin and the Viener Virtuosen (25 July), Diana Damrau and Ivan Paley (8 Aug) and Rudolf Buchbinder and the Vienna Chamber Orchestra (20 Aug).
