27 June-6 Aug 2006. The St Petersburg Ballet performs five ballets including Swan Lake and Romeo and Juliet over the six-week season at the Teatro Gran Via. Originally choreographed by award-winning former artistic director Leonid Yakobson during the 1960s and 1970s the ballets have recently been faithfully restaged by the company. Swan Lake runs from 27 June-2 July and from 1-6 August, followed by three Miniature Ballets: Spartacus, Rodin and Paso a Cuatro (4-9 July). Romeo & Juliet is next (12-16 July), followed by The Nutcracker (18-23 July) with the classic romantic ballet Giselle(25-30 July) completing the cycle. Admission Tues-Thurs 36-20, Fri-Sun 42-25. Performances Tues-Fri 20.30, Sat 19.00 & 22.00, Sun 19.00.
