Medusa: Jewellery and Taboos

19 May-5 Nov. The Musée d'art moderne de la Ville evaluates the artistic value of jewellery, a form of decoration whose status is generally considered somewhere between fashion and sculpture.

The exhibition examines how avant-garde artists and contemporary designers have re-imagined jewellery, detaching it from being perceived as too feminine, ornamental or primitive.

The show comprises more than 400 pieces of jewellery created by artists, designers and contemporary jewellery makers, as well as ancient or non-Western pieces.

Tues-Sun 10.00-18.00. Thurs 10.00-18.00.
