Lucian Freud: Closer: Etchings from the UBS Art Collection

22 July-22 Oct. The Martin-Gropius-Bau shows 51 etchings by the important 20th-century British realist painter Lucian Freud (1922-2011) who was born in Berlin and is best known for his intimate, visceral portraits.

The etchings on display come from the UBS Art Collection which comprises more than 30,000 objects and works by artists ranging from emerging talents to some of the biggest names from the last 60 years.

Freud's etchings are accompanied by three of his paintings.
