9 Nov-15 April. MACBA presents the first major retrospective dedicated to avant-garde American artist Rosemarie Castoro (1939-2015). Focusing on the period from 1964 to 1979, the exhibition documents Castoro's career within the context of the minimalist and conceptualist movements in the US. The show chronicles all aspects of Castoro's practice which encompassed abstract painting, conceptual works, performative actions in the street and studio, poetry, mail art, sculpture, installation and land art. The exhibition also examines Castoro's association with contemporaries such as Carl Andre, Hollis Frampton, Sol LeWitt and Yvonne Rainer.
