Homage to Ganesha

22 Sept-24 Jan. One of the most popular deities in the Hindu pantheon of gods, the elephant-headed Ganesha is also the most recognised Hindu god outside of India.

Worshipped as a powerful deity of good fortune, Ganesha's name is invoked at the beginning of any endeavour, from starting a business to building a house.

This exhibition presents a range of representations of Ganesha from the collection of the Ashmolean Museum.
