8-16 April 2006. Wagners operas Tristan und Isolde and Parsifal feature in the 10th edition of the Berlin Staatsoper festival Festtage created by general music director Daniel Barenboim. Tristan und Isolde is staged by young theatre director Stefan Bachmann and Parsifal is directed by film producer Bernd Eichinger. Both operas are conducted by Berenboim. The programme also includes the historic Staatskapelle orchestra conducted by Barenboim, playing music by Schnberg, Felix Mendlessohn Bartholdy and Mahler, and two piano recitals by Barenboim of Johann Sebastian Bachs Well-tempered Clavier. Admission opera 260-15, concerts 98-28. The Staatskapelle and Barenboim concerts are at the Berlin Philarmonie 11, 13 and 15 April, 15.30 and 20.00. Tristan und Isolde 8, 16 April 16.00, 12 April 17.00. Parsifal 9, 14 April 16.00.
