This annual theatre festival presents the best in Irish and international drama and promises a bold, diverse, and entertaining programme for spectators. This years festival is dominated by the themes of passion, politics, and betrayal. For 16 days, theatre houses in central Dublin are hosting some of the worlds best productions with theatre in South Africa, Belgium, USA, Russia, Peru, Lithuania, Germany and Ireland represented. Some of the 2005 highlights are I Am My Own Wife with its true tale of the German transvestite who the Nazis and the Stasi, Some Girls are Bigger than Others based on the music of The Smiths, the courtroom drama Bloody Sunday: Scenes from the Saville Inquiry, Laurel and Hardy retelling the story of the famous comic duo and a fabulous new production of one of Shakespeare's most greatest plays, The Winter's Tale.
