Discovering Tutankhamun

An exhibition outlining one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th century.

The Ashmolean charts the hunt for the tomb and its subsequent discovery by Howard Carter, whose original records, drawings and photographs are on display. The exhibition also details the decade-long process of recording the treasures found buried with Tutankhamun.

Artefacts from Ancient Egypt and Sudan belonging to the Ashmolean collection are on show along with loans of important pieces from other international collections.
