Cy Twombly at MUMOK

4 June - 11 October 2009. American artist Cy Twombly (born 1928) is regarded as one of the 20th century's most influential artists as well AS being one of the world's most famous living artists. This exhibition, his first in Austria, is a retrospective. It charts all aspects of Twombly's career from his beginnings in abstract expressionism right through to some recent pieces created specially for this show. Also displayed is a wide range of sculpture, drawings and photographs. Over the years Twombly has developed a unique style, incorporating graffiti-style motifs into evocative and monumental canvasses.

MUMOK is a state-of-the-art museum which preserves and displays to the public its fine collection of 20th and 21st century artworks.
