20-23 Sept 2006. More than 60 blues concerts are on offer at venues across the Danish capital for the sixth edition of Copenhagens biggest blues festival. Featuring international artistes including The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Corey Harris, one of Americas best roots musicians, and guitar ace Sherman Robertson, the festival also hosts top bands from Scandinavia. The line-up of female blues artists includes new UK talent Kyla Brox, soul and gospel singer Rose Hudson from the US, plus Ladies Sing the Blues and Mamas Blues Joint from Denmark. For the first time this year daytime blues concerts are to be held throughout the four days of the festival at the Rdovre Centrum shopping mall at Trnvej 100, 2610 Rdovre. The festival opens at the Amager Bio with a double bill featuring Denmarks Mike Andersen Band and The Fabulous Thunderbirds (20 Sept at 20.00 doors open at 19.00). Other festival venues include the Mojo Blues Bar, the Bartof Caf, Bispebjerg Kulturcenter and the Christianshavns Beboerhus. Admission Dkk200-Dkk20. Many events free.
