The work of Carl Larsson (1853-1919) is the subject of an exhibition at the Petit Palais, the first time that the Swedish artist is honoured with such a major show in France.

Around 100 of Larsson's works are on display including watercolours, oils, prints and even items of furniture. Larsson was a multi-talented artist, turning his hand to murals and interior design, but it was his illustrations that brought him international fame during his lifetime and beyond.

Larsson's gentle images provide an insight into family life in rural Sweden in the late 19th-century and, due to the illustration's sentimentality, the artist is a much loved figure in his native Sweden.

Tues-Sun 10.00-18.00. Thurs 10.00-22.00. Mon closed.
