Bjørn Wiinblad: Much more than plates

Strong design, crisp lines, psychedelic colours and round-faced fairytale people characterise the whimsical, beautiful world of Danish artist Bjørn Wiinblad (1918-2006).

Wiinblad's work is hugely popular in Denmark and in recent decades has been shown extensively around the western world.

He remains best known for his coloured plates however, as the title suggests, this wide-ranging exhibition demonstrates other aspects of his multi-faceted ouevre which, in addition to ceramics, included paintings and illustrations as well as works in silver, bronze and textiles.
