25 Feb-7 April 2006. Taking in all the north-eastern suburbs of Paris, this festival of jazz, blues, soul and world music is now in its 23rd edition. The international line-up includes Dutch trio Braam-DeJoode-Vatcher, the Mahala Rai Banda (literally meaning Noble Orchestra from the Ghetto) from Rumania, Iva Bittova from the Czech Republic and the Paniks from Serbia. The festival also offers master-classes, workshops, open rehearsals and conferences. The final concert on 7 April at Bobigny features the Either Orchestra big band from Boston with guest singers Mahmoud Ahmed and Tsdnia Gbr-Marqos from Ethiopia. Admission 20-14, concessions 14-9 for unwaged, students and under-18s.
