The Ville de Paris has produced a free guide for parents of nursery to high school students, available at schools across the French capital or on the city council website. Entitled Elve Paris 2006/2007, de la maternelle au lyce, the dossier provides information on everything from how to enrol your child at school to extra-curricular activities and from school meals to social integration. This year the capital has four new schools and 42 new classrooms (23 of which are in nursery schools), while 1,800 renovation projects involving existing buildings have been completed. The city council is investing ten per cent of its total investment budget in education between 2004-2007.
