Unemployment in the county of Oxfordshire has shown a significant improvement compared with a worsening national trend, recent figures have shown. In October 3,505 people were claiming the job seekers allowance, 700 fewer than in the previous month. This is the lowest unemployment figure in four years. There is evidence that many hi-tech businesses in the area are doing particularly well, leading some to complain that there is actually a shortage of qualified workers.
