The 420 self-cleaning public toilets in Paris, known as sanisettes, are now free of charge. The city council has also announced plans to replace the existing metallic-grey cubicles with more attractive ones that will also supply drinking water as part of an overall strategy to make the French capital friendlier for the disadvantaged.
