End of Brussels winter plan puts families back on streets
Experts estimate that hundreds of people, including families with children, will once again face sleeping on the streets as the official winter emergency housing plan ends in Brussels.
The plan, which ran over the winter months, ensured that all homeless people were found an emergency bed for the night and Samu Social, the official emergency care provider, housed over 500 people every night. With the arrival of spring the emergency hostels will be closed.
