Copenhagen city councillors are examining a proposal to build a top-class camping ground in response to the growing number of illegally parked caravans on the streets of the Danish capital. The new campsite would be on the outskirts of Copenhagen, near the beach at Amager Flled. The city already has a caravan park in the Bellahj district on the opposite side of town, but it lacks modern facilities and cannot meet the increased demand created by the new trend for city camping. Claus Bondam, city councillor in charge of infrastructure and environmental issues, predicted that the proposal would be approved.
