Johann Strausss operetta in three acts Vienna Blood directed by Volker Vogel returns to Viennas beautiful 18th century Schnbrunn Palace Theatre as part of the 2006 summer season. Described by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung as operetta at its best, cleansed of operetta clichs, the plot of Weiner Blut revolves around the numerous amorous entanglements of Viennese Count Zedlau, played by Anton Graner and Martin Mhle. The role of the Counts long-suffering wife Gabriele is shared by Elisabeth Flechl, Ingrid Habermann and Christa Ratzenbck, while his faithful valet Josef is played by Andreas Rainer and Andreas Sauerzapf. Conducted by Herbert Mogg, Weiner Blut features the orchestra and ballet of the Musik Theater Schnbrunn and is sung in German. The libretto is by Victor Lon and Leo Stein. Admission 85-35 standing room 10. Tues-Sun at 19.30 except 19-20 & 26-27 Aug at 17.30.
