This is the 16th edition of the Internationales Queer Film Festival held at the Berlin Kino International, with 50 feature films and 31 short films on offer dealing with gay, bisexual and lesbian themes. The festival opens with Boy Culture, a comedy from US director Allan Brocka, set in a Seattle university college (in English with German subtitles) (29 Nov). Other highlights include Ned Farrs debut feature The Gymnast, a lesbian mid-life love story between an ex-gymnast and a young Korean dancer (in English with German subtitles) (2 Dec), and Canadian film Whole New Thing by Amnon Buchbinder, exploring a young boys coming of age under rather unusual circumstances (in English with German subtitles) (10 Dec). The lesbian short film section The Elle World features ten films from the US, France, Canada and Israel including Red Velvet Girls, Cosa Bella, Squeeze Play and Dichotomy Innocent (1 Dec).
