7 July 2005. Back in town to promote their latest musical offering - How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb - Irish rock band U2 take to the stage for the highlight of the German leg of their U2 Vertigo tour. Berlins Olympiastadion can host over 80,000 and if any band can fill it, U2 probably can. Founded in 1976, U2 are now recognized the world over as one of the biggest and best-loved bands of our times. Singer Bono has used the bands appeal and high profile to pursue an agenda aimed at encouraging Third World development by relieving poverty and promoting improved living conditions. The Olympiastadion also happens to be one of the main stadiums built for next years FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany so visiting football fans can catch a glimpse of the spectacle in store. Tickets are 68-390. Doors open 18.00.
