The historic square overlooked by the Vienna City Hall, the Rathausplatz, is to be transformed for six weeks into a giant ice-skating rink. 4.000 sqm of ice will provide skating space for enthusiasts of all ages from morning till late at night. Skaters can glide or twirl around the square to the strains of classic Viennese waltz tunes or disco hits from the 80s and 90s. At night the beautiful faade of the city hall is lit up and a specially illuminated 350 metre long Dream Path runs across the adjacent park. The enormous rink also has 4 lanes dedicated to curling, the traditional Scottish version of bowling on ice. All kinds of food and drink are available from the stalls set up around the edge of the rink. Skates can be rented on site. The Vienna Ice Dream is open every day of the week.
