3 Nov 2009-17 April 2010. The biggest Anglo Saxon collection of gold ever found. The first pieces of the hoard were found by Terry Herbert when he was using a metal detector in a field in southern Staffordshire. Since then over 1,500 artefacts have been excavated from the site. The discoveries include crosses, coins and weapons. Most of the objects are in gold and some are decorated with semi-precious stones.
