17 April-6 May 2006. Keith Warners new production of the fourth and final part of Wagners epic Ring cycle is presented by the Royal Opera at Covent Garden. In Gtterdmmerung the world is cleansed of the influence of the gods, corrupted by Wotan, through the purifying elements of fire and water. Other cast members include Peter Coleman-Wright and John Tomlinson as the devious half-brothers and Emily Magee as Gutrune, who steals Seigfried from Brnnhilde. The Ring Gtterdmmerung is sung in German with English sur-titles and runs for six hours. The Royal Operas Music Director, Antonio Pappano, conducts. Admission 180-8.
