The Palace of the Planet King

The Prado museum of art is now exhibiting its tribute to the planet king Philip IV of Spain and his Buen Retiro palace after four years of preparation. Nearly 62 out of the 800 works of art formerly adorning the palace will be featured in five different galleries, including a monument to the arts of war in the Hall of Realms. The museum has organised the show to commemorate the 400th birthday of King Philip IV and his rich tradition of commissioning great Spanish, Italian and French artists and architects such as Velazquez, Viviano Codazzi and Poussin.
