The Point Theatre, Irelands premiere music venue, hosts the sixth edition of the Meteor Awards with Irish comedian Patrick Kielty presenting. 17 awards will be presented including Best Irish Band, Best Irish Male, Best Irish Female and Best Irish Pop Act as well as various awards for international categories. Tickets to the star-studded evening are not on sale but can only be won, apart from corporate tickets at 100 each which will raise money for charity. This years recipient of the Humanitarian Award (and 100,000) is Father Peter McVerry, founder of the Arrupe Society which helps homeless boys in Dublin. Doors open at 19.00 and show starts at 20.00.
