13-27 Dec 2006. Hans Christian Andersens classic fairytale The Little Match-girl comes to the Thtre de la Ville - les Abbesses in a music theatre adaptation by British director Dan Jemmett and Martyn Jacques. The poignant street story about poverty has been transformed with original music and songs by the Tiger Lillies, a picturesque Berlin cabaret-style three-piece band featuring Martyn Jacques on piano accordion and voice, Adrian Huge on percussion and Adrian Stout on double-bass. The cast includes Laeticia Angot as the little match-girl and Bob Goody. The trompe loeil stage design of diminishing box sets is by Richard Bird, with costumes by Sylvie Martin-Hyszka. Performed in English with French surtitles. Admission 23-16.50. Under-28s 12. Performances Tues-Sat at 20.30, Sun matinee 15.00. No performance 24 Dec.
