8 November - 26 March. This exhibition at the Prado Museum presents the varied collection of the St Petersburg State Hermitage Museum.

Part of an exchange programme between the Russian and Spanish museums, Treasures from the Hermitage is one of the highlights of the Spain-Russia dual year 2011.

The 170 works on display showcase the collection's artistic diversity, and its works are shown in chronological fashion from the fifth century up to the 20th century.

The collection comprises archaeological artefacts, decorative art works, paintings, sculptures and drawings. The exhibition is curated by Mikhail Piotrovsky, director of the State Hermitage Museum.
