8-14 August 2005.. After its successful debut last year, the Copenhagen Summerdance Festival reopens its doors with an extended time slot and 100 extra seats available. The festival is once again to be held in the beautiful surroundings of the Copenhagen police headquarters central courtyard, which provides a magical backdrop to the performances; its oval space lined with marble colonnades, open to the summer night skies.

Tim Rushton, artistic director of the Danish Dance Theatre, Denmarks leading modern dance company, has put together a programme offering the very best of Nordic dance. Companies performing include the Ballet of the Finnish National Opera, Skaanes Dance Theatre and the Danish Dance Theatre. Admission is free, but booking is recommended last year there were interminable queues and not everyone managed to get in. There is a booking fee of 40 Danish kroner (approximately 6) which will guarantee you a comfortable seat. For those who have booked, the gates of the police station will open at 20.00. In case of rain, the show will be cancelled. Performances start Mon Sun at 21.00
