24 March-2 April 2006. 150 films from 46 countries are to be screened at Copenhagens most important international film festival, this year in its 16th edition. Screenings are held in every cinema in the Danish capital as well as in venues such as the Copenhagen Jazzhouse and the Nationalmuseet. The gala opening films include V for Vendetta, Capote, Neil Young Heart of Gold and Woody Allens latest, Matchpoint. Italian actress Valeria Bruni Tedeschi is the festivals guest of honour, with a retrospective of eight films dedicated to her work. Natfilm was set up to promote new Danish film and the Natsvrmer Award is presented to a young Danish film talent on 31 March. Other sections of the festival feature films from the Middle and Far East; Bollywood, Iran, Japan, China and Thailand. The festival tours to Aarhus, Odense and Aarlborg 12-17 April.
