Also known as the International Concert of Orchestra and Chamber Music the new Festival of Berlin Festspiele (former Festwochen) brings outstanding international orchestras, soloists and ensembles to Berlins Philharmonie and its Chamber Music Hall. Aficionados can enjoy encounters with the New York Philharmonic, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Concertgebouworkest Amsterdam, the Czech Philharmonic and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe bringing international sparkle to the festival. The performance of the concert version of Janceks opera Jenufa by the Berliner Philharmoniker under Sir Simon Rattle (10 September) will be a special highlight that maintains the overall Slavic focus of this years Musikfest Berlin.
