5 July-4 Aug 2006. The gardens of the Castell de Montjuic host the fourth edition of this summer festival of open-air film screenings featuring international films in original language with Spanish subtitles. Live music concerts of jazz (Weds) and world music (Fri) accompany the screenings at the Sala Montjuic and spectators can bring a picnic to enjoy on the lawn in front of the big screen set up on the castle walls. Films on offer include Paradise Now (Palestine) by Hany Abu Assad (19 July), The Barbaric Invasions (Canada) by Denys Arcand (21 July), Everything is Illuminated (Ukraine/UK/Russia) by Liev Schreiber (26 July), Billy Wilders 1961 classic 1, 2, 3 (28 July) and Woody Allens Annie Hall (2 Aug). The film fest closes with Spanish comedy Tapas by Jos Corbach and Juan Cruz (2005) on 4 Aug. Admission 4. Gates open 20.30 Concerts 21.00, short film 22.00, feature film 22.15.
