10-18 September 2005. Barcelona's eighth international festival of short film returns to the Centre de Cultura Contempornia de Barcelona (CCCB), featuring more than 150 shorts over 8 days of screenings. The festival is also of course a competition spread over the following categories: International, Oblique, Documentary and OK Computer (the best shorts created with Flash animation). Beyond the contest, other sections include: Womart, a series of shorts on womens issues; Radical, a special on sado-masochism; Clips, a collection of the finest national and international video clips; Invited Country, a retrospective of the last decade chosen by the eponymous magazine; Publicity; NYC, devoted to the most filmed cities in the world; and Countries of the East. The Mecal Music Festival runs in parallel, giving a taste of various soundtracks accompanying the visual projections.
