Mário Pedrosa: On the Affective Nature of Form

28 April-16 Oct. The Reina Sofia pays tribute to Mário Pedrosa (1900–1981), Brazil’s foremost critic of art, culture and politics and one of Latin America’s most frequently cited intellectuals.

The exhibition includes a selection of Brazilian and international paintings responding to various artistic questions raised by Pedrosa, who is recognised for bringing European and American art to a Brazilian audience.

On display are works by artists such as Käthe Kollwitz, Emiliano Di Cavalcanti and Candido Portinari.
