15 Oct 2008-22 Feb 2009. This exhibition displays a selection of antiquities of various origins, such as Egypt, Greece and Rome, from the private collections of Rodin and Freud. The exhibition highlights the connections between the work of these two men and their passion for antiquity. While Rodin reproduced the lesson from antiquity on his canvases, Freud found that psychoanalysis was a form of archaeology, as it digs layer by layer into the psyche of the patient. The Freud collection, based in London, comes to France for the first time.
