20-27 Oct 2006. Held in a live music club, La Boca del Lobo, this independent film festival presents around 100 short fiction, documentary and animation films and two feature-length movies, screened in two sessions nightly. While the majority of films are from Spain, the festival also features international shorts from 20 countries including Mexico, the UK, Argentina, Belgium, Cuba, Greece, Australia and Singapore competing for six major prizes. The Bocas Espacio de Cultura at 11 Calle Argumosa Lavapis Madrid, hosts screenings of non-competition films, themed by country or city with Panorama Brazil (21 Oct), Panorama Madrid (22 & 23 Oct), Spain (24 Oct), International (26 Oct) and the 12th festival of video-art from Italy (27 Oct). Sinima (24 Oct at the Espacio de Cultura) has documentary films from Palestine, Lebanon, Morocco, the USA and Israel, including Anas Children which recounts ten years of a theatre project for children in the Jenin refugee camp in Palestine. All non-Spanish language films are subtitled in Spanish. Admission 1. Screenings start at 21.20 at the club. Espacio de Cultura 19.30-23.00.
